Description
Owls are made from vintage plates ranging from the 1930’s to 1950’s. These plates were from the original “Ladies who lunch”, now repurposed into fun garden art. Each owl is made from a vintage luncheon plate. Punch cups, candle holders, glass furniture coasters become eyes. Acrylic gems, spoons, forks, become either eyes, beaks or feet. Some have a branch for sitting. They are hand painted and cured. Some are drilled while others have a glass jar or picture hanger for display. The owls with a bottle have a metal cap inside for added stability. We use a sturdy construction adhesive that is both weather resistant and waterproof, Although, they are weather resistant we do recommend storing in the winter. They can be displayed on a rebar, garden stake or copper tube. They can also be displayed indoors on an easel or hung. Remember to order the owl that suits your intentions. Our garden art is made from vintage repurposed glassware and newer glassware. We search thrift stores, auctions and garage sales for our unique one-of-a-kind pieces. Each is a unique piece of art.
